art memories

i don't know exactly why. but somtimes i find myself photographing someone else's art.
i do it only when it speaks to me. when it makes me feel something.
i guess, at the instant i snap, i want to remember what i saw and how i felt.
and it means so much more, this way, than a print of it in a common brochure.

  2. Ah, these are great. I bought a set of photos from an antique store once. When I came home I realize they were old photos of old photos! It was strangely wonderful.

sewon - i'd love to see those! old photos from strangers have always something misterious and special about them, dont they?

  5. I especially adore the first photograph. I always find it hard to rephotograph a photograph, but you've done it extremely nicely!

  10. the first image is gorgeous, i can understand why you were taken with it.

I once read about an artist who rephotographed Edward Weston's photographs as a part of a postmodernist piece or something. Something to do with the experience of art being an art in itself or something. it confused me but it was still really interesting.
